Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire, a quiet area in The West Island of Montreal is one of those "sleepy" place. The West Island can be confusing for those who aren't familiar of its purpose. Many people believe that it's an island located west of Montreal However, it's actually the West Island encompasses everything between the two cities of Lachine and West. Amanda Brugel's hometown is often mentioned, but her brief visit to the West Island wasn't. Brugel was raised in Courtice close to Oshawa Ontario. Her first ambition was to be an expert dancer. But, a growing spurt caused her to outgrow all of the dance partners she was able to have. According to an article by Toronto Star, she revealed her height in heels as six feet and one inch tall. As I grew older than my male friends, I quit. A lot of dancers go from dancing to acting. As for Brugel, it was her drama teacher who encouraged her to go in this direction. A teacher suggested that she audition for an annual school production. Following a trial the role, she was chosen as the main character in Anne of Green Gables. The show led her to receive an Fine Arts Talent Scholarship at York University where she attended the Theatre Program which she graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2000. Over the last 20 years, Brugel's work been seen on the small and big screen. The most notable was her fame when she was offered the role as Rita in the award-winning television series The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel was the sole Canadian in the season 1 actors of the series and only seen occasionally was the sole Canadian.
